The Sauerland show on February 12 in Muehleim an der Ruhr features super middleweught Eduard Gutknecht, previously with Universum. Gutknecht beat former WBO champ Karoly Balzsay but then lost to current WBO king Robert Stieglitz for the sole loss on his 19-1 ledger. Also on the bill is 20-0 middleweight Dominik Britsch, who returns after being out since August of last year with a hand injury.
The Sauerland show in Herning, Denmark, also February 12, is headlined by super middleweight Rudy Markussen who goes for the vacant WBC Baltic Seas title against Latvian Oleg Fedotovs in a rather undemanding matchup. Middleweight Mahir Oral faces Hungarian veteran Joszef Matolcsi on the undercard. WBA, WBC and WBO female welterweight champ Cecilia Braekhus will defend her titles and dreams of fighting Holly Holm but it appears that Ann Sophie Mathis from France is closer to a fight against Holm than Braekhus.
Petter Antman and Harri Hakulinen clash for the vacant Finnish cruiser title January 29 in Pori. Heavyweight Jarno Rosberg returns on the undercard after a year´s suspension for testing positive to an illegal substance. Jan Nyholm, closing in on 49, returns for a final farewell bout and will thus become the first fighter from Finland to fight over four decades. Andrea Sarritzu´s defence of the EBU flyweight title against Lee Haskins is, again and again, postponed. The latest date was January 28 with Cagliari as site but it´s been called off a few times by now.
The Jackson Boxing Club headed by Louis De Vries have unbeaten lightweight Jean Pierre Bauwens in a WBC Youth title fight February 13 in Deurne, Belgium. Opponent is Georgian Beka Sadjaia, who have all his wins at home and all his losses abroad.
