Lucas Browne has denied a deal is done to face Dillian Whyte in the New Year.
The Australian heavyweight, who has been out of the ring since June, has been the subject of some social media heat from the WBC Silver champion.
Whyte will return to the ring on March 24 at the O2 Arena in London, exclusively live on Sky Sports.
And although the former British champion took to social media on Thursday to say that ‘Big Daddy’ was next in line, his potential future foe said otherwise.
“Finally, I get to smash up the tattooed penis [Lucas Browne] on 24th March at the O2. [Promoter Eddie Hearn], I really am looking forward to it. #WhyteBrowne”
But the visitor, who has been looked after by Ricky Hatton in the past, was quick to put a pin in such an idea.
He responded, accompanied by an image of Whyte on the canvas following his seventh-round defeat to Anthony Joshua, the current WBA Super, IBO and IBF heavyweight champion, from back in 2015: “There’s a few things to sort out first, like a contract for starters but I’m looking forward to seeing @DillianWhyte all tangled up again. #sleepingonthejob”
At the time of writing, Boxing Scene understands a deal for Whyte vs. Browne will be done for the date above, with further details expected to be revealed in due course.
