Top junior welterweight champion Dierry Jean (25-0, 17KOs) wants to become the next superstar to come out of Canada. On January 25th, Jean will challenge Lamont Peterson (31-2-1, 29KOs) for the IBF championship. The fight is taking place in the champion's backyard at the DC Armory in Washington, DC. Jean is refusing to take any chances in the fight, and wants to earn a clear victory by knocking Peterson out in the contest.
"This is a fight that has to be taken very seriously and I'm training very hard to secure a decisive victory by knockout. It will be an important battle that is taking place in my opponent's [backyard] in Washington, so it's going to be difficult to get a close decision there. I have to totally dominate him or put him away by knockout, which is still my first option," Jean said.
