Looks like unbeaten junior featherweight Diego De La Hoya could return to the ring on September 17, promoter Oscar De La Hoya told BoxingScene.com.
Diego De La Hoya would likely appear on the non-televised undercard of the Liam Smith-Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez junior middleweight clash at Cowboys Stadium in AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
De La Hoya is the younger cousin of Oscar De La Hoya.
Diego De La Hoya (15-0, 9 KOs) has blossomed into a legitimate prospect over the last year or so. The 21-year-old hails from Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico.
In his last bout on May 7 in Las Vegas, Nev., De La Hoya stopped Rocco Santomauro in the seventh round in a battle of unbeaten fighters.
"That's what we're talking about now," Oscar De La Hoya told Boxingscene.com Tuesday afternoon. "He's establishing a strong fan base for himself. We're looking on putting him on this (September 17) card."
No opponent has been confirmed for Diego De La Hoya.
De La Hoya is managed by older cousin Joel De La Hoya.
