Looks like unbeaten junior featherweight Diego De La Hoya could face Jesus Ruiz on September 4, Joel De La Hoya advised BoxingScene.com.

Estrella TV will televise the bout along with other preliminary bouts.

Diego De La Hoya (11-0, 7 KOs), who turned 21 on August 13th, knocked out Jose Estrella in the fourth round of his last bout on July 2. His most impressive win took place earlier this year on February 27, when he won a one-sided eight round decision over former world title challenger Manuel Roman.

Despite Ruiz having over four times as many fights, Joel De La Hoya, Diego's manager, believes he is more than ready.

"We've accepted Ruiz as the opponent. It will be Diego's first 10 round bout."

Diego De La Hoya is promoted by his older cousin, Oscar De La Hoya.

In his last bout on March 20, Ruiz (34-6-5, 23 KOs) stopped Saul Hermosillo in the fifth round. Prior to that fight on January 17, Ruiz was stopped in the eighth round by Leo Santa Cruz.

Ruiz does have draws against junior lightweight contender Andres Gutierrez and Ruben Tamayo.

In the co-main event, unbeaten junior welterweight Everton Lopes (3-0, 1 KO), a 2008 Olympian who represented Brazil, will fight in an eight round bout against an opponent to be determined.
