According to boxing scribe Dan Rafael, Diego Corrales' likely opponent for his April 7 ring return, at the welterweight limit of 147-pounds, may come against Joshua Clottey. Clottey is coming off a December decision loss to WBO welterweight champ Antonio Margarito, in a fight where he appeared to be winning until he badly injured his left hand and fought a defensive fight for the remainder of the contest.
Showtime, who will air the fight, apparently reached out to promoter Don King to secure a main event co-feature between junior middleweight champions Cory Spinks and Travis Simms. Rafael notes that the fight is unlikely to take place because Simms owes a mandatory defense of his title against Canada's Joachim Alcine.
