Promoter Lou DiBella advised BoxingScene.com that currently there is no interest in having Andre Berto (27-1, 21KOs) defend the IBF welterweight title against Devon Alexander. Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, who recently signed Alexander to his company, was attempting to match him against Berto in the fall or early 2012.

Berto's first order of business, says DiBella, is a mandatory obligation to Randall Bailey (41-7, 36KOs). There is also no interest on Berto's end in participating in Golden Boy's proposed welterweight tournament. But, there is interest in staging a rematch with Victor Ortiz (29-3-2, 22KOs), who won a decision over Berto in April.

"We are not interested in fighting Devon Alexander. Right now we have Randall Bailey to deal with. We have to take care of that first and we'll go from there, but right now we are not interested in Alexander," DiBella said.
