Unbeaten flyweight Miguel Diaz will fight Joseph Rios in a scheduled eight round bout on September 21st, Thompson Boxing Promotions General Manager Alex Camponovo told Boxingscene.com.

The bout will headline a “Path to Glory” card and will take place at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, CA .

Diaz (9-0, 4 KOs ) stopped Evaristo Primero in the sixth round of his last fight on July 20th. Prior to his bout against Primero, the Allentown , PA resident won a hard-fought eight round unanimous decision over Austreberto Juarez on March 10th.

Rios (11-7-2, 4 KOs), from San Antonio , TX, defeated Joel Garcia by unanimous decision over six rounds in his last fight on June 23rd. Garcia entered the bout against Rios unbeaten.

The victory snapped a two-bout losing streak for Rios.

Also on the card will be hard-hitting Richard Contreras (9-0-1, 8 KOs ) taking on Jonathan Alcantara (6-8-1, 1 KO) in a scheduled six round featherweight bout. Contreras fought to a six round majority draw against Daniel Quevedo in his last fight on February 24th.

In a battle of unbeaten super welterweights, Eugene McClellan (8-0, 3 KOs) of Tampa will fight Mike Noriega (4-0, 4 KOs) of Mexicali , Mexico in a scheduled six round bout.

Junior welterweight Rigoberto Flores (5-1, 2 KOs) of Northridge, CA will fight Rolando Campos (6-4, 2 KOs) of San Antonio , TX in a scheduled six round bout.

Two more bouts are scheduled to round out the card.
