It was just announced on Showtime's ShoBox program that Diego Corrales-Jose Luis Castillo is officially off for March 5th, 2004. They announced that Castillo will now face Julio Diaz, Diaz has been officially named as Castillo opponent for the card.

They said the bout was scrapped once again due to in-fighting within the Corrales camp. A total contradiction to what Diego Corrales said an hour ago on ESPN's Friday Night Fights. Corrales said on the live program that the Castillo fight was indeed going forward and he was in the gym training hard for the fight.

Showtime said that Corrales will not fight until at least September-October of this year. A very long layoff as Corrales last fought in the summer of 2004. This fight has been on and off for several months now. Arguements about money, how much is split, how much is being paid and nothing seems to have changed. Showtime confirmed that Corrales would not sign the bout agreement, which is funny since on ESPN Corrales said that Castillo was looking for a way out and is scared of making the fight.
