For the first time in history, two fighters out of Quebec, Canada will fight with a major world title at stake. WBC light heavyweight champion Adrian Diaconu (26-0, 15KOs) will defend his title against Jean Pascal (22-1, 15KOs). The fight will take place at the Bell Centre in Montreal. La Presse reports that the event will be co-promoted by Canadian rivals InterBox and GYM.

The fight should have some heavy action. Diaconu returned in April after a one-year layoff, winning an eight round tuneup. Last December, Pascal suffered the first loss of his career in a "fight of year" war with Carl Froch. Froch used Pascal for sparring to prepare for Jemain Taylor.
