BoxingScene.com recently spoke to former junior welterweight champion Devon Alexander about comments made by Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer. In a recent article on BoxingScene, Schaefer mentioned that Alexander could be a possible future opponent for Amir Khan, who likely will move up to welterweight in the near future.

Alexander (23-1, 13KOs) is scheduled to fight IBF welterweight champion Randall Bailey (43-7, 37KOs) on September 8th.  The St. Louis native said that he would have no problem facing Khan after Bailey.

The British star may possibly pursue a rematch with WBA/WBC champion Danny Garcia, who knocked Khan out in four rounds last Saturday night - but Alexander believes Khan should move up in weight.

"After I handle my business with Bailey, Khan can be next if he wants it. He should move up to 147 anyway," Alexander told BoxingScene.com
