Former heavyweight titleholder Deontay Wilder made weight Thursday for his return to the ring at Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kansas, on Friday night.

Wilder, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, hit the scales at 225.5lbs, while Tyrrell Anthony Herndon, of San Antonio, weighed in at 218.3lbs.

Wilder, 43-4-1 (42 KOs), has had a rough half decade. After a five-year title run, Wilder saw it ended in 2020 when he was stopped by Tyson Fury. Since that loss, he is 1-3, with two of his three losses coming by way of stoppage. Wilider, 39, will enter the fight 11 pounds heavier than when he fought Zhilei Zhang last June, a bout in which he was knocked out in the fifth round.

Herndon represents a massive step back in competition for Wilder, as the 24-5 (15 KOs) opponent was stopped by heavyweight up-and-comer Richard Torrez Jnr in 2023. Herndon, two years younger than Wilder at 37, is on a three-fight win streak heading into this bout. His past two wins have been split decisions, with his previous victory coming against an unbeaten Rudy Silvas. After weighing in at 235lbs for his win over Silvas in May. Herndon is at the lightest weight of his career, coming in a half-pound lighter than when he fought Daniel Gonzalez in December 2023.

For the co-feature, Deon Nicholson, 21-1 (17 KOs), a 34-year-old from Tuscaloosa, weighed in at 173.8lbs for his light heavyweight fight. Devonte Williams, 13-1 (6 KOs), a 31-year-old from Houston, will weigh in at a later time. He was not present at the ceremonial weigh-in, and no further explanation was given.

The bout will stream on PPV.com.
