Filipino fighter Denver Cuello (27-4-6, 17 KOs) of Cabatuan, Iloilo, had a sensational debut for his new promoter, Canelo Promotions. Cuello lit up the ring when he knocked out Mexico's Sebastian Arcos (0-1-0) in the third round at the Convention Center in Cozumel, Quintana Roo, Mexico. The fight was scheduled for 6 rounds. Official time was 2:24.

The world ranked Cuello knocked Arcos down a total of three times throughout the fight with accurate shots which resulted in Arcos bleeding through the nose.

The third and final knock down was produced by a powerful left by Cuello, hitting the abdomen of Arcos followed by a right to the chin which knocked the Mexican's lights out for the full count of ten.

After the win, it was disclosed that Cuello is scheduled to fight another Mexican, Carlos Perez (12-3-3, 8 KOs), on October 15 at Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, Mexico.
