CANELO PROMOTIONS is proud to announce the signing of top rated Filipino boxer Denver Cuello, who is rated highly by all four boxing sanctioning bodies. Denver is only 24 years old, and is a feared fighter who operates from a southpaw stance and is the current WBC international minimumweight champion. He is the number four ranked challenger in the world and his new promotional company is working on the procedures to secure a fight against Ganigan López on Mexican soil, and the fight could take place on October 15 .
Cuello, is well known by Mexican fans for to his outstanding victory over “Churritos”, he is currently on a winning streak consisting of six victories - all of them by knockout - including one against former world champion Muhammad Rachman.
"Winning a world championship has always been my dream. I am willing to fight anybody, any champion who has the desire and the will to fight me and the courage to give me an opportunity, but it hasn´t happened yet. I am very excited to fight in Mexico or any other place. I hope and pray that I can be champion of the world this year," Cuello said.
Edison Reynoso, CEO of Canelo Promotions and Héctor Zapari, the new matchmaker of this company, agreed that “we know for a fact that Denver will become the new face of the smaller weight classes, there is no doubt about it.”
Cuello (#4 WBC, #7 WBA, #5 WBO and #5 IBF) concluded by saying “I am willing to fight any champion and I promise to destroy them inside the ring. My mind is always in a fighting mode and that is against any foe, any champion like González, Ioka, Hirales, Segura or any other champion at 108 and 105 pounds, but all of them are cowards! They know for sure what is going to happen if they face me. I am not being cocky, but I just watched their recent fights and I know that I can beat them all”.
