Wilmington, Delaware – Champs Promotion has announced that they will be holding Delaware’s first double title fight at the Chase Center on the Riverfront on February 8.

‘Champs at the Chase’, is the first of what organizers hope will be an on-going effort to bring high level professional boxing events to the First State.

Headlining the night of bouts will be light heavyweight rising star Dennis Hasson. Hasson moved from Pennsylvania to Delaware last year to train under Delaware world champion Dave Tiberi. He has rocketed through the ranks with an impressive 15 – 0 record and will be fighting his first championship match as he looks to earn the belt from the North American Boxing Association. Hasson will be matched against Kevin Engel, 20 – 6 with 16 knockouts, from St. Louis, Missouri. Hassson is managed by Delaware-based Champs Management.

Another championship will be on the line as “The New” Ray Robinson will be fighting for NABA’s welterweight title. Currently 14-2 with 6 knockouts, Robinson, from Philadelphia, built a name for himself when, in May 2012, he knocked out Terrance Cauthen, then 36-7 and a former Olympic bronze medalist. In addition to Robinson’s impressive professional record, as an amateur he was champion of the Junior Olympics and fought as a member of the United States Boxing Team.

In a female super featherweight bout, Melissa St Vil out of Brooklyn, NY will be fighting Natasha Spence from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Local boxer, Ryan Belasco fighting out Wilmington, Delaware, will have a rematch with Ronnie Green, out of Wheeling, West Virginia.  Rounding out the fight card will be local boxer, Joey Tiberi, out of Newark, Delaware, and making his professional boxing debut, Luis Hernandez out of Wilmington, Delaware.

“Champs at the Chase” will feature six different bouts. Doors will open at 6:00pm with the first bell going off at 7:00pm on Friday, February 8. The Chase Center is easily accessible from both I-95 (Exit 6) and I-495 in Wilmington, Delaware. Tickets are available at www.champsmanagement.com and by phone at (302) 888-BLUE (prices range from $45-$125). For sponsorship opportunities, contact mail@champsmanagement.com .
