Denis Lebedev (21-1, 16 KOs), WBO #1 ranked cruiserweight and 2010 Russian fighter of the year, continues his preparations for the upcoming showdown with ring legend Roy Jones Jr. (54-7, 41 KOs), which is scheduled for May 21 at Dynamo Arena in Krylatskoye, Moscow, Russia. Andrey Bazdrev contacted Lebedev for a short talk regarding his feelings about the biggest fight in his career.

“It won’t be easy. We watched his fights; we rooted for Jones and we were fascinated with his skills. And I’m well aware that lots of the fans will support him and not me in the upcoming contest”, said Lebedev. “But for me this is a huge motivation. I will not give myself any easing; I won’t easy up on myself. No way will I do that and I’ll fully concentrate on my preparations. I need to be in the best shape possible not to be confused while looking in people’s eyes afterwards”.

Denis is currently in Chekhov, Moscow Region, working three times a day with a conditioning guru. Russian living boxing icon and Hall-of-Famer (class of 2011) Kostya Tszyu will join Team Lebedev in the near future.

“I’m even interested on how I'm going to behave against him, how will I react to his punches, to his movements, and how I’m going to counter Jones in the ring. I envisage it deeply in my own mind, but on May 21st it will be all different. I don't need any bad surprises and I will be at the peak of my abilities to prevent them from coming my way”, added Lebedev.
