Demetrius Andrade remains unbeaten after flattening Rudy Cisneros in one round Saturday evening at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT.

Andrade was in control of the brief affair, which was yet another mismatch on paper that turned dangerous in the end. A two-punch combination just before the bell put Cisneros down and out for the full ten count.

The official time was 2:59 of round one.

Cisneros remained on the canvas for several minutes as he was being tended to by medical staff before being carried out on a gurney.

Andrade advances to 17-0 (12KO) with the win, the latest in a string of soft opposition with which he has no business sharing ring space. 

There has been an ongoing industry-wide demand for Andrade - a member of the 2008 U.S. Olympic boxing squad - to step up in competition. The last fight saw major concern over the health of Angel Hernandez, a medical risk prior to their fight and even worse once the bell rang.

More of the same occurred Saturday evening in the very same arena. Perhaps between the Connecticut boxing commission, ESPN and co-promoters Star Boxing and Banner Promotions, someone will develop a conscience and think long and hard before approving the next gross mismatch on paper and in reality. 

A fighter of Andrade's ilk deserves much better. So too, do the hopelessly overmatched fighters being brought in as cannon fodder.
