Forget Renan St-Juste. Sebastien Demers will now face Nicholson Poulard. From what BoxingScene.com/Netboxe.com learned, a disagreement concerning the weight, representing a margin of three pounds between 165 and 168-pounds, has overcome the long-awaited duel between Renan St-Juste (21-2-1) and Sebastien Demers (31-3-0). Instead, Nicholson Poulard (15-3-0) will get in the ring at the Bell Centre on December 3 as the main supporting bout in the series "Fast & Furious" presented by the Groupe Yvon Michel.
Nicholson Poulard will attempt to avenge a previous defeat by unanimous decision, suffered at the hands of Demers in November 2009 at the Montreal Casino. Poulard, the half brother of WBC world champion light heavyweight Jean Pascal, earned two victories since then, particularly against the former Canadian champion Larry Sharpe.
As for Demers, a former NABF and IBF International champion, he won a majority decision at the expense of former world champion William Joppy, before losing by TKO in June against Bryan Vera. Away from the ring for six months, Demers has carefully prepared his return by working in camp with Enrique Ornelas, with whom he has delivered more than 100 rounds of sparring, and with UFC star Georges St. Pierre.
The main fight of the evening will involve the WBC International champion and undefeated super middleweight banger, David Lemieux (24-0), who will face a rival to be determined at a later date.
