Junior middleweight contender Delvin Rodriguez (28-6-3, 16KOs) believes everything is coming together to finalize a deal to face former three division world champion Miguel Angel Cotto (37-4, 30KOs) on October 5 at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. Rodriguez says there are a few minor issues that need to be worked out before the official announcement is made. The match will be televised by HBO.
"Everything is positive. We're just missing some minor things [for the deal] to be concrete. I am excited about the opportunity and waiting for those details. It seems like it's going to happen. It's a great opportunity, given that Miguel Cotto has faced all of the best in the division. It's going to be a great fight but not for the title. I think the promoters and the public were asking for this fight. They know it will be very good," Rodriguez told Carlos Narvaez.
