Lanky Dexter Delada has won the vacant Philippine lightweight title with a third round TKO victory over Christopher Saluday on Tuesday in Dapitan while stablemate Wyndel Janiola won the Philippine Boxing Federation light flyweight title with a majority decision over Philip Parcon.

Both Delada and Janiola are managed by Rex "Wakee" Salud, the close friend and confidant of Filipino ring idol Manny Pacquiao.

Delada who loves to slug it out engaged Saluday in a slugfest and suffered a cut over his right eye in what PhilBoxing.com reported was a legitimate punch. However, a cracking left by the heavy-hitting Delada dropped Saluday in the second round . Saluday was also penalized twice for head-butts.

After a furious exchange at the start of the third round Delada caught Saluday with some big shots forcing Saluday to turn his back as a sign that he didn't want to continue forcing the referee to call a halt at 1:59 of the third round.

Delada was coming off a bad beating when he suffered a crushing second round knockout at the hands of Ali Funeka in a showdown for the WBC International title in South Africa. Delada improved to 15-3 with 11 knockouts while Saluday dropped to 11-12-2 with 6 KO's.

In the main supporting bout light flyweight Janiola had a tough fight on his hands against Davao's Philip Parcon and was taken the distance before winning a majority decision. A one time world-rated fighter Janiola improved to 18-4 with 9 KO's.
