Group Yvon Michel's upcoming show, scheduled for this Thursday, October 20th at the Bell Centre in Montreal, unexpectedly lost the main event. Antonin Decarie (25-1) bruised his ribs during training and was forced to withdraw. He was scheduled to face former world champion Jose Luis Castillo (62-11-1) in a fight with the NABF title.
The card is not canceled. A new main event has been set. Dierry Jean (19-0) vs. former champion Francisco Lorenzo (37-10-0), the prior co-feature, is now bumped up to main event status. Also, Colombian prospect Eleider Alvarez (5-0), a former Olympian, will face a decent opponent. He was going to face the veteran Christian Cruz, but promoter Yvon Michel is currently seeking an opponent who is better established.
The rest of the card is also very interesting. Former Canadian champion Manolis Plaitis (16-1-1) will face Lithuanian Arvydas Trizno (9-13-2), 22, who just lost to the former world champion Junior Witter on September 17. Welterweight Abdou Sow (5-1-0) will face Baltazar Perez (5-4-0) of Mexico.
Also on the card, Ghislain Maduma (4-0) will face Jevgenijs Kirillos (7-11-1). Ontarian prospect Tyler Asselstine (6-0), a protégé of Hennessy Sports, will face Cristian Palafox (8-4-0). Finally heavyweight Oscar Rivas (6-0) will be measured against Edgars Kalnars (21-23-0), while Didier Bence (2-0-0) will face Pavel Dolgov (8-15-2 ).
