Boxingscene has been advised that former junior middleweight title challenger Deandre Latimore will join Floyd Mayweather's camp on August 15th as a sparring partner. Mayweather is preparing for his September 17th showdown with WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz.
Latimore, who is a southpaw like Ortiz, flew into Las Vegas on Monday to get ready for the saparring sessions. Former champion Kassim Ouma is also in Mayweather's camp and already sparring with undefeated superstar.
Attempts to reach Latimore were unsuccessful but sources close to the fighter said that the St. Louis native is excited to get the chance to spar with Mayweather and called it "an honor to work with him."
