Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya would welcome Miguel Cotto (37-2, 30KOs) with open arms. The WBA champion's promotional contract with Top Rank, who guided his entire career, expires on December 31st. In a few recent interviews, Cotto revealed that his loyalty remains with Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum. But if Cotto decides to go across the street, De La Hoya is waiting to hear him out.
"Cotto has a contract right now. Obviously Golden Boy will always be interested in promoting the best [fighters] in the world. If Miguel Cotto is free [of any contract], we are here with open arms to listen to him, to talk to him, to see what he decides to do. [Right now] we can't do anything because Miguel has a contract," De La Hoya told Pele Cavaso.
