Manager Joel De La Hoya announced last week he has signed unbeaten lightweight Alejandro Luna to a managerial contract.
De La Hoya told Boxingscene.com that he will get Luna a bout relatively soon.
"He's a good prospect and he needs to be active," said De La Hoya who also manages Francisco Vargas, Julian Ramirez, Hugo Centeno, and Diego De La Hoya.
The 22-year-old Luna, who hails from the Los Angeles suburb of Whittier, knocked out Sergio Rivera with one punch in his last bout on March 7 in Pala, CA.
Luna has built a strong fan base and sells a lot of tickets to local shows. He goes by the nickname, "Charrito."
Despite having beaten only five fighters with winning records thus far in his career, Luna is already ranked in the top 15 by two sanctioning bodies.
Luna (17-0, 13 KOs) is currently promoted by Gary Shaw.
