Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya feels his boxer, undefeated WBO middleweight champion Peter "Kid Chocolate" Quillin (29-0, 21KOs) is the best fighter on the planet at 160-pounds. De La Hoya disputes any talk that WBA/IBO champion Gennady Golovkin (27-0, 24KOs) is the top dog at the weight.
De La Hoya believes Golovkin needs to prove his worth even further, by facing former champion Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam, who Quillin dropped six times to capture the title.
K2 Promotions, who promote Golovkin, are interested in matching their boxer against Quillin - but they want the fight to take place on HBO. Quillin fights exclusively on rival network Showtime.
"My man Kid Chocolate will destroy any middleweight out there. I wanna see Golovkin vs. Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam and then I'll see if he's good or not," De La Hoya told his social network followers.
