Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya is predicting an all-out war when Canelo Alvarez squares off with Gennady Golovkin.

On Saturday night, two of the world's very best finally meet at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, live on BoxNation Box Office, and the American-Mexican doesn't think the judges will be required.

“It’s going to be brutal," the promoter told Hot 97. "This is going to be 8 rounds of hell. Maybe 8, 9 or maybe 10."

Golovkin, who defends his WBC, IBO, IBF and WBA 'Super' World Titles, has stopped 33 of his 37 foes. Canelo also carries serious power, and De La Hoya believes a knockout finish is obvious.

"I think Triple G could knockout Canelo. He has that big power and he could knock him out. It’s the same thing for Canelo. If he lands one of his big punches, it could be good night for Triple G.

"In this fight...obviously someone is going to lose and get knocked out. It might be Triple G, because finally he’s stepping up to face the very best."

De La Hoya clearly believes that Canelo's recent opposition have been tougher than the Kazakh's. In their last few fights, Golovkin has faced Daniel Jacobs, Kell Brook and Dominic Wade, while Alvarez has fought Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, Liam Smith and Amir Khan.

Jacobs took the Kazakh the full 12 rounds, leading to some comments that Golovkin is slowing down.

”He beat him, and now people think that’s he’s not invincible," added De La Hoya. ”People thought he wasn’t human. He’s a robot. The guy was knocking everybody out. So that now makes the fight very interesting."

While the promoter is confident for a Canelo victory, he reiterated that he is the underdog at the T-Mobile Arena: “People are now saying Canelo has a shot of knocking him out, although Triple G is still the favourite in this fight."
