In a recent interview with the Chicago Tribune, Oscar De La Hoya told boxing scribe Michael Hirsley that when he and Mayorga step in the ring this May, he plans to show the boxing fans that he will not be intimidated and will bang away with the madman from Nicaragua. Oscar is set to begin training for Mayorga next week.

"That weight (160) was not natural for him. At 154, he's going to be strong and come straight forward against me. I will have to show my fans that I can come and bang with him; said De La Hoya

Should De La Hoya win the bout against Mayorga, he plans a final career bout in September. The two men at the top of his list for the final bout are Winky Wright and Floyd Mayweather. Although Oscar said that he would love to face Wright, the fight would have to take place at 154 pounds - not 160.

"I will go out with my retirement fight in September. That's it. I want to fight the best fighter out there and go out with a bang. Winky Wright and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are at the top of my wish list."
