Oscar De La Hoya is not worried about the Mexican fighters who plan to support Manny Pacquiao on December 6 in Las Vegas. When De La Hoya's fight was first announced with Pacquiao, Mexican fighters like Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., Erik Morales, Jorge Arce and Antonio Margarito were all pledging their support to Pacquiao.

"I believe Chavez is going to be on Pacquiao’s side. I heard Chavez and Margarito are going to be on Pacquiao’s side. [It doesn't bother me] at all because the one fighter that I looked up to the most or the fighters from Mexico that I looked up to the most, will be on my side, which is Ruben Olivares, Pipino Cuevas, Chiquita Gonzalez, and Finito Lopez. So those types of fighters are the fighters that I really admired growing up," De La Hoya said.

That statement contradicts what De La Hoya had said many times in the past, that Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. was one of his main idols growing up.
