BoxingScene caught up with the boxer turned promoter Oscar De La Hoya at the Bernard Hopkins vs. Howard Eastman middleweight showdown and asked Oscar about a return to welterweight and several potential showdowns.

BoxingScene: Oscar, are you still planning a return to the welterweight division?

De La Hoya: I'm planning a return to the welterweight division. I tried fighting with the big guys at 154 and 160, but 147 is my natural fighting weight.

BoxingScene: When do you see yourself fighting again?

De La Hoya: It's hard to say right now, there is no set date or opponent.

BoxingScene: Who are some of the possible opponents that you would like to fight?

De La Hoya: There are so many fights at welterweight right now, the champion Zab Judah, Kostya Tszyu, Shane Mosley, so many fights are out there for me at welterweight.

BoxingScene: I saw you and Zab Judah talking earlier tonight, he wants to fight you next. Could that be your next fight?

De La Hoya: It's possible, Judah is a great fighter and he is the undisputed welterweight champion, but there are many options for me at 147.

BoxinScene: A fight against Tito Trinidad is also still an option for you?

De La Hoya: That fight is also still out there for me.

BoxingScene: Not at 160 pounds?

De La Hoya: The fight would not happen at 160.

BoxingScene: Thank you for your time Oscar.
