Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya (39-6-30KOs) has a perfect storm in mind.

Last week, De La Hoya revealed that he's strongly considered the possibility of a comeback. The former five division world champion, 42-years-old, retired after suffering a TKO defeat to Manny Pacquiao in 2008.

During a media interview, also last week, Floyd Mayweather Jr. said he was very interested in facing De La Hoya in a rematch on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mayweather won a twelve round split decision over De La Hoya in 2007. Their fight broke all existing financial and pay-per-view records and held many of those honors until last month's record crushing fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather.

In a few interviews, De La Hoya mentioned the possibility of facing WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs).

The perfect scenario for De La Hoya is for Mayweather (48-0, 26KOs) to face Golovkin - with the "Golden Boy" returning to face the winner. Golovkin has actually started training to get down to 154-pounds (where Mayweather holds two belts) in the unlikely event that Mayweather will select him for September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

"I would love for the perfect storm happen, where Mayweather will fight Triple G and I can fight the winner. That's the perfect storm for me. Is that realistic? Maybe not, maybe yes.  Who knows. I've seen crazier things. But like I said, if I do come back I want to fight the very best," De La Hoya said to BoxingScene.com.

Mayweather has named Andre Berto and Karim Mayfield as potential foes for his September return.

Would De La Hoya entertain the Mayweather vs. Berto winner?

"Crazier things have happened," De La Hoya laughed.
