Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya has denied the recent rumors that were being whispered regarding a possible return to the ring. His former trainer, Floyd Mayweather Sr., was quoted in several published interviews telling reporters that he was informed that De La Hoya was considering a possible ring return. Mayweather Sr. voiced his interest in training De La Hoya for the comeback, but the fighter turned promoter has no interest in returning.
"No [it's not true], no return, but I'm in good shape," De La Hoya said.
Since De La Hoya retired in 2009, rumors have continued to circulate regarding a possible comeback but Oscar always shoots them down. He last appeared in the ring on December 6, 2008, when Manny Pacquiao stopped him in eight rounds.
