The biggest fight in New Zealand was announced with a Wednesday press conference to officially disclose that both fighters had signed the contracts for a clash on June 6. Each fighter will receive $500,000. The back and forth bickering to make the fight was worse than the recent negotiations to make a fight with Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton. Both sides bickered for months, but finally agreed on all the terms and signed off on the bout agreements in the last week.

Ian Fraser, former TVNZ chief executive, is acting as a consultant to Duco, who are handling the promotion of the event.

"A lot of commentators were saying that this would never happen. That Tua versus Cameron would be the biggest, greatest fight you would never see," Fraser was quoted as saying by The Dominion Post. We have two matching contracts sitting in front of me, each for a purse of half a million dollars. And with the signing of those contracts, New Zealand's `Fight of the Century' is real."

Tua and Cameron were present at the media gathering. Cameron was happy to be the underdog in the fight.

"It's good for me because David's the favorite," Cameron said. "There's no pressure on me but odds don't mean who is going to win the fight. I'm quite happy I'm the underdog. I'd definitely put money on me, although I'm not sure I can."

Tua has not been in the ring since 2007, but plans to take all of his frustrations out on Cameron. After two years of Cameron calling him out in the New Zealand media, Tua is happy the fight is finally here.

"Yeah. I'd be lying if I said no [it didn't frustrate me]," Tua said. "At one point I thought that maybe it was just a publicity stunt but when it becomes twice or three times, for me, that's a bit different. I'm just happy the fight is on and I'm very excited.

"For me to get back in the ring and back fighting in the States, it's important for me to fight the guy who stands in my way. And the guy New Zealanders consider right now the man to beat is Shane Cameron."
