According to his promoter Cedric Kushner, heavyweight contender David Tua is going to make up for lost time in 2010 by taking five fights and then going for a world title. He was going to return in February against former champion Bruce Seldon but that fight got put off due to family issue with Tua. The next fight is going to be in March against Friday Ahunanya in New Zealand.
Kushner told Radio New Zealand that Tua, even with the postponed fight, was still going to make five ring appearances in 2010. Tua returned in October to blow out Shane Cameron in two rounds. It could have ended in one round. It was Tua's first bout in over two years. Part of that reason for the long layoff was the Cameron fight being pushed back several times.
