At the Montreal Casino in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, rising super middleweight star David Lemieux (22-0, 21KOs) destroyed Walid Smichet (20-7-3) in two rounds. Lemieux landed a three punch combination to end the fight at 57-seconds of the second. Smichet was able to get up after the count but he was stumbling about and far from being in any condition to continue.
The stage was set in the first round, with Lemieux stunning Smichet several times with hard shots from both hands. Everyone knew the fight was not going to last for much longer. Lemieux has knocked out almost every single opponent, except for one, inside of four rounds.
"I was surprised that he was willing to trade punches with me," said Lemieux. "My game plan was not to get hit. I got hit by one shot that surprised me, but other than that, it went pretty well."
