Amir Khan believes that David Haye will have at least one more fight in order to avoid finishing his career with a defeat.
Haye was comfortably beaten on points in his highly-anticipated showdown with Wladimir Klitschko in July and initial speculation over a rematch seems to have died down.
He has stated his interest in taking on Wladimir's older brother Vitali, with a date some time in 2012 mooted for the bout if the two camps can come to an agreement.
The former WBA heavyweight champion previously insisted that he would not fight on beyond his 31st birthday, which he will celebrate on October 13 this year, but Khan thinks those plans will be put on hold.
"When I spoke to David he did say to me that he was devastated with the loss he had," the light-welterweight world champion told Sky Sports News.
"Klitschko is a very tough opponent and he knew he was going to have his hands full but he thought he might get into Klitschko's head and break him that way.
"It didn't work but I think David can come back. He's still young, he's not had too many hard fights, he can come back, definitely win a world title again and finish with a win.
"You never want to walk away from the sport losing a fight so I'm sure David probably will have one more fight and win that.
"Financially, I'm sure he's secure and he's made a lot of money in boxing but there's always that doubt in your mind - you don't want to walk out of the sport losing."
