With the Klitschko brothers committing to other fights, WBA heavyweight champion David Haye has been left out in the cold. Wladimir Klitschko will defend his WBO/IBO/IBF heavyweight titles against Alexander Povetkin on September 18. WBC champion Vitali Klitschko continues ongoing negotiations to fight Nikolai Valuev at the end of the year.
Not too many lucrative options left in the division, but there are a few names for Haye to select from.
Audley Harrison - The biggest option for financial purposes. Harrison is being routed as the likley option for Haye's next defense. A very big fight in the UK.
Ruslan Chagaev - The former heavyweight champion is now the mandatory to challenge Haye. A possible chunk of money to be earned if they hold the fight in Germany, but Haye seems mentally focused on fighting in England next, unless there is a large sum of money on the table to go elsewhere.
David Tua - A fight with Tua might not be the most lucrative option, but a fight with him might get the interest of HBO. The network wants heavyweight fights with excitement and drama. Tua's punching power will bring the drama.
Chris Arreola - Another opponent for Haye where HBO might get involved to televise in the United States. Arreola is a big enough draw on the West Coast for Haye to make his American debut with a title defense at the Staples Center.
Tomasz Adamek - The former light heavyweight and cruiserweight champion is the probably the second most lucrative option on the list. Adamek is a big draw in the United States and Poland and he brings a large Polish following wherever he fights. The fight can be a big sell in England, America or Poland. HBO and other networks will be all over this one.
