David Haye has always had a big reputation in the UK as a playboy who loves the ladies. Due to the upcoming fight with Monte Barrett on November 15 at London's O2 Arena, Haye has been following a strict code of "no sex" with his wife Natasha for several weeks.
According to Haye, the ban of all sexual activities with his wife will make he more dangerous when he meets Barrett. He says that he'll be ready to rip Barrett's head off.
“It is difficult but it is something I’ve done for a while. By the time I get in the ring I’m like a caged animal ready to rip somebody’s head clean off. My opponent might have my speed, power, determination and talent but I go that step further and don’t have sex for six weeks. Mentally I will have that little bit more because I have gone against my natural instinct and urges. It gives me an edge. It is a sacrifice I make and I know my opponent won’t have done the same thing," Haye told News of The World .
After the fight with Barrett, provided he wins, he wants to tackle the Klitschko brothers, starting with WBC/IBF champion Wladimir next summer.
“Wladimir is the one I want. He is No 1 in the world, he has been consistent and beaten most of the top 10 heavyweights. Since Lennox Lewis put away his gloves we haven’t had a real strong heavyweight in Britain. Not only can I win the title, but I can go on and unify the belts," Haye said.
