One Klitschko brother is not enough for David Haye. For months Haye been calling for a fight with WBO/IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko. Now that older brother Vitali has returned from retirement and re-captured the WBC title from Samuel Peter, Haye would like a piece of him as well. After unifying the cruiserweight division, Haye returns to the heavyweight division on November 15 at the O2 Arena against Monte Barrett.
"Any brother will do. Vitali's got a couple of world title belts - so I'll bash him up, then his brother. That's the big goal, definitely, without a doubt. Tag-team one after the other," Haye told The Guardian. "I'm always the type of person to think ahead, wonder where we go from here. I know its sounds silly talking about another fight when you've got one around the corner but all the thinking, strategy work has been done months ago and I've been focusing on Barrett in the gym."
Haye says that his manager, Adam Booth, has an understanding with the Klitschko side for a fight with Wladimir in 2009 - if he gets past Barrett on Saturday. Wladimir has to get past Hasim Rahman on December 13.
"When we sat down with Setanta [the plan] had always been two fights then Wladimir Klitschko. But if it's one, then so be it ... With my style I don't think I need to ease into it," Haye said.
