If something were to happen to WBO/IBO/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko, his summer opponent, WBA king David Haye, would not care if WBC champion Vitali Klitschko as pushed in on short notice. Haye is due to face Wladimir on June 25 or July 2 in Germany. According to the contract terms, if something were to happen to Wladimir and he was unable to move forward with the fight, then older brother Vitali would step in.
"I wouldn't really care about the notice, to be honest - I'd be in shape, training for a fight against Wladimir and if, for whatever reason, he pulls out then Vitali would only have a short period of notice as well," Haye told Sky Sports.
Haye also took a shot at Wladimir's abilities. He questioned whether or not Wladimir would be capable of being so dominant without his size and reach.
"You can tell by the way he boxes that he's not a natural fighter," Haye added. "I'm sure if he was 6'3 and weighed 210 pounds, he wouldn't be a heavyweight champion."
