There is speculation in Germany that Ruslan Chagaev's medical troubles with Hepatitis B could prevent his mandatory shot at WBA champion David Haye (25-1, 23KOs). BoxingScene.com had a report several days ago regarding the British Board of Control issuing a letter in 2009 which made it clear that Chagaev's application to box in the UK will be rejected.

Reports in Germany suggest undefeated Denis Boytsov (28-0, 23KOs), ranked number two by the WBA, could be approached to replace Chagaev. Boytsov's issues with his right hand may prevent this from happening. There is no telling if the unbeaten Russian will be physically capable to compete by May or June.

Number three in the rankings is undefeated Alexander Povetkin and that might be a possible foe. Povetkin is promoted by Sauerland Event, who in part promote Haye.
