According to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Philboxing and other Philippine based media outlets, Manny Pacquiao (45-3-2, 35KOs) appears to be leaning towards a move to the lightweight limit of 135-pounds for a March bout with WBC champion David Diaz (33-1-1, 17KOs).

Pacquiao is scheduled to meet this week with his promoter Bob Arum and discuss the two possible options for a March 15 pay-per-view headliner. Diaz, also promoted by Arum, would probably be an easier fight to make. Diaz is coming off an August win over Erik Morales, who fought three memorable bouts with Pacquiao.

The other option is a rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez, the WBC super featherweight champion, who is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions. Negotiations have been ongoing for a bout with Marquez, but money appears to be the main obstacle with both fighters demanding a hefty share of the stake. Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach would prefer a Marquez rematch and then a move to 135 for a clash with David Diaz.
