EBU cruiserweight champ Marco Huck will now defend the title against Belgian Geoffrey Batello on January 24 in Riesa. Batello replaces injured Ukrainian Vadim Safonov.
 
Light heavyweights Juergen Braehmer and Rachid Kanfouah clash for the vacant EBU title March 7 in Dresden. It will be Braehmer´s first fight since losing to WBA champ Hugo Hernan Garay. The legal problems that haunted Braehmer before that fight are still around.
 
Bild Zeitung have an interesting interview with former WBO light heavyweight champ Dariusz "Tiger" Michalczewski, who now resides in Gdansk, Poland. "Tiger" tells how he earned 30 million Euro in the ring and has now spent it all, mainly through expensive divorces but also by leading a pretty wild lifestyle.
 
Talented middleweight Genadyi Golovkin moves up to ten-rounders and squares off against experienced Argentinian Javier Mamani on the undercard to Menzer-Schouten on January 17 in Duesseldorf.
 
Cruiserweights Lubos Suda and Fabio Tuiach clash for the vacant EU title on February 20 in Trieste, Italy, with Boxe Loreni promoting.
 
Sauerland´s First Lady Cecilia Braekhus will indeed go for the vacant WBA and WBC welter titles on March 14 in Kiel but opponent won´t be Swede Anna Ingman. Vinni Skovgaard, EBU champ at jr welterweight, could get the chance instead.
