Darchinyan's Mandatory, Evans Madamba, Wants a Crack

South Africa’s Evans Madamba, WBC super flyweight mandatory challenger to multi-titled Vic "The Raging Bull" Darchinyan, is ready to take on the hard-hitting Australian southpaw and cannot wait to test himself against one of the best fighters in the world today.
 
The undefeated Madamba (16-0, 8 KO’s) earned the right to a title shot against Darchinyan, recently who retained his WBC/WBA/IBF titles with an 11th round stoppage over a battered Mexican warrior Jorge "Travieso" Arce, with a smashing 7th round stoppage over highly-touted Thai fighter Devid Lookmahanak last December.

Lookmahanak had earlier gone the distance against Arce and was considered
unlucky not to get the decision when they clashed in Arce's backyard in
Mexico City.
 
Following his questionable loss the WBC mandated Lookmahanak to face Madamba in a title eliminator which earned the South African the mandatory title shot.
 
Well-known South African promoter Branco Milenkovic who was named "International Promoter of the Year" by the WBC in 2007 says he expects Darchinyan to honor his obligation to fight Madamba.

Milenkovic revealed he would be send a letter to WBC president Don Jose Sulaiman to inquire about when negotiations with the Darchinyan camp can be initiated.
 
Milenkovic told boxing writer Mesuli Zifo "We want the fight against Darchinyan bad and as such we are expecting the WBC to formally order us to begin negotiations."
 
Darchinyan’s promoter Gary Shaw earlier told insidesports.ph, Standard Today and Viva Sports that Darchinyan was looking at moving up in weight to fight WBO bantamweight champion Gerry Penalosa or former WBO super flyweight champion Fernando Montiel who has moved up to 118 pounds even as he ruled out a rematch with the only fighter to beat Darchinyan – reigning IBF/IBO flyweight champion Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire.
 
Donaire who also wants to move up to super flyweight said he watched Darchinyan’s demolition of Arce on television but believes that if he should fight Drachinyan again, the result would be the same.
