IBF/IBO flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan (26-0, 21KOs) has been unable to secure a unification bout against the other flyweight champions. He is set for a mandatory defense in Las Vegas in October, as part of the undercard to Diego Corrales-Joel Casamayor 3, but is trying to get a unifcation bout as the next fight.

Darchinyan tells The Age, that WBO champion Omar Narvaez WBC champion Pongsaklek Wonjongkam have both turned down offers to face him. It apoears the next bout will likely be against the highest rated challenger, former IBF light-flyweight champion Jose Victor Burgos of Mexico.

"The WBO and WBC champions have cancelled, they don't want to fight me," Darchinyan said. "I might fight a mandatory against Jose Burgos, if they get him it will be good because I know he's a tough fighter and it would be a good television fight."
