According to The Australian, IBF/IBO flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan (26-0, 21KOs) plans to move up in weight after his October 7 bout with Glenn Donaire in Las Vegas. The only way Darchinyan will stay at flyweight is if one of the other champions meets him in a unification bout.

"After this fight I will again issue a challenge for a unification fight and if in one month no-one comes back and wants to unify the titles, I will move up a division and fight any of the super flyweight champions," Darchinyan said.

Darchinyan, has no problems with moving up in weight because he is currently sparring in Los Angeles with fighters that are heavier than him by two weight divisions.

"My sparring partners in Los Angeles are heavier than me by two divisions," Darchinyan said. I love sparring with heavier guys, I feel I can punch them harder. Smaller guys you can see when you punch them hard, they are stopping and they start getting scared that's why I like bigger guys."
