Dante Jardon Denied Knockout As Adrian Verdugo DQ'd

Dante 'Crazy' Jardon is no stranger to early nights, but most often have come from his two-fisted power. Saturday's quick win came via disqualification, when Adrian Verdugo was tossed in the second round of their main event at Foro Polanco in Mexico City, Mexico. 

Jardon appeared to be back to his old ways, a sight not seen since before his Dec. '11 upset knockout loss to Kyohei Tamakoshi. The free-swinging Mexican knockout artist came out the gate with every intention of sending the crowd home early yet satisfied. 

Verdugo felt the full brunt of his opponent's intentions, dropped in the opening round and well on his way to a painful evening. Jardon continued on the attack, anxious to pick up his first stoppage in nearly a year.

Refusing to go down again, Verdugo resorted to tactics beyond the rules when traditional fighting wasn't enough to get the job done. An intentional headbutt (as ruled by the referee) in round two was enough to send the journeyman home and with his second straight loss, as he falls to 22-7-1 (19KO). 

Jardon wins his second in a row after an upset decision loss to Miguel Roman last year (later avenged). He improves to 22-3 (18KO) with the win, the second time in his career he has won by disqualification - both coming in the second round.
