British heavyweight veteran Danny Williams stopped Egyptian Mazur Ali in the headliner of the first ever professional boxing event in Abu Dhabi Thursday night in the United Arab Emirates. According to gulfnews.com it was a fight to forget as Williams carried his much lighter overmatched opponent for a few rounds before stopping him in the sixth.
As to why he continues to fight, Williams tells gulfnews he simply needs the money. Working as a security guard at home in London pay only some of the bills and Danny says he has kids in private school and a good house and thus is open for more fights and gulfnews calls the former Tyson conqueror "Desperate Danny".
The 40-year old Williams is now 45-19 and ended a nine-bout two-year losing streak with this win.
