Karlstad, Sweden - Frida Wallberg retained the WBC junior lightweight title with a unanimous ten round decision over Canadian Olivia Gerula. It was scored 99-91 and 98-92 twice in fastpaced no knockdown, little drama affair. Wallberg was overall too fast and strong and was a popular winner.
British heavyweight Danny Williams beat aging ex-IBF cruiserweight king Al Cole on split decision over six two minute rounds. It was scored 58-56 and 59-56 for Williams and a strange 58-56 for Cole, who is in good shape for a 47-year-old but not for a professional boxer.
Welterweight Patrick Bogere knocked out Pole Slawomir Ziemlwicz in the sixth and final round. Bogere made a good start but the strong Pole came on in the middle rounds and the fight was even going into the last when Bogere scored with terrifying right hand and Ziemlwicz went down and out with no count necessary to allow the corner and ringside physician to quickly attend to the fighter. Both were cut after accidental head clashes. This fight was scheduled for six three minute rounds.
Female welterweight Mikaela Lauren floored Serbian Eva Halasi three times for a stoppage in the second of their six twos.
Light heavyweight Oscar Ahlin turned pro with a TKO win in the second over Latvian Denis Kurakins. Oscar is the son of Torsten Ahlin, a fine amateur who also fought professionally - even at the age of 55.
Latvian Roman Sencenko outscored Swede Tobias Alexandersson over four drab rounds of boxing. It was scored 39-38 twice for Sencenko and 38-38.
The show was promoted by Pugnus and ten ounce amateur gloves was worn in every fights - a must under the special Swedish rules.
