Unbeaten junior middleweight Danny Valdivia will face Aaron Garcia on December 2, Top Rank matchmaker Brad Goodman told BoxingScene.com in a recent interview.
The eight round bout will take place at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif. and will open the 'Solo Boxeo Tecate' broadcast on UniMas, beginning at 11 p.m. ET/ 8 p.m. PT.
Valdivia-Garcia will precede the 10 round main event between junior lightweights Jose Ramirez and Issouf Kinda, who replaced Gabriel Bracero. Ramirez will be fighting before a hometown crowd as he resides in nearby Avenal.
Valdivia (12-0, 9 KOs), who resides in nearby Tulare, defeated Gilberto Pereira dos Santos by unanimous decision in his last bout on September 10.
The decision win snapped a four-bout streak of consecutive knockout wins. Friday will be Valdivia's fourth fight of 2016.
Garcia (15-6-1, 10 KOs) lost an eight round unanimous decision to Alan Castano on July 23. The Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico resident has lost three of his last four bouts.
In an eight round non-televised bout, 2012 Silver Medalist and unbeaten middleweight Esquiva Falcao (15-0, 12 KOs) will face Gerardo Ibarra (14-3, 8 KOs).
