Middleweight Shannan Taylor, coming off a tough decision loss to Anthony Mundine, has been offered a chance to fight the returning Danny Green at the light heavyweight limit of 175-pounds. Green recently announced his return to the sport after a one-year retirement. He plans to announce his comeback fight in the next few days and Taylor has been approached about facing Green in his second fight of 2009.

"I will stand and fight, he will stand and fight. It will be a very entertaining fight," Taylor told Sydney Morning Herald. "They asked me if I would step up to light-heavyweight, and my answer was yes. I am a warrior, and this is a big opportunity. If I win, it will open many things up for me. I will tell him to go toe-to-toe - and either he drops or I drop."

Taylor is confident of his chances. He felt that his performance against Mundine was a lot better than Green's one-sided decision loss to Mundine in 2006.

"I went way better against Mundine than he did, way better," Taylor said. "It would be a hard fight for Greeny. I have sparred him 80 rounds easy … I used to be a wild child but not anymore. It would be a fight between two gentlemen; two clean-cut Aussies giving it everything."

There are rumors going around that former super middleweight champ Manny Siaca, who beat Mundine in 2004, is being looked at as the possible opponent for Green's first comeback fight.
